The Alternative Orchestra is a dynamic and inclusive professional ensemble led by Nathan Jones, as Creative and Music Director. It that celebrates the full creative potential of orchestral music. Far from being confined to traditional classical concerts, this innovative collective reimagines what an orchestra can be. It blends genres, challenging expectations, and showcasing orchestral instruments in fresh, exciting musical contexts. From intimate cabaret nights to large-scale productions, the focus is on breaking down barriers between pop, film, musical theatre, LGBTQIA+ anthems, and orchestral music while championing diverse voices and exceptional performers.

I’ve performed in their boundary-pushing cabaret shows and Remixed concerts, featuring in themed performances like boy bands vs. girl bands and the Pride Film with live orchestra, and appearing as a solo player across multiple projects. Together, we transform familiar songs into unforgettable live experiences, celebrating artistry, individuality, and the joy of music in all its forms.

Since 2025, I have also supported the organisation behind the scenes as a Production Assistant (seasonal), assisting the Music Director with venue coordination, outreach activity, and partner engagement, while contributing to rehearsal scheduling, booking, and production administration across Cardiff and online.
